Olive Trees on porcelain. The Roots of our existence.
Peace requires patience and resilience – just like the olive tree. Capable of living for more than one thousand years, the olive tree embodies the Palestinian’s agrarian culture and spirit. Practically speaking, the olive tree is life itself to the Palestinian - providing food, work, oil, soap, medicine and shade to its people.
Najat hand paints each of her Olive Tree designs using a raised enamel technique to give each leaf a special luminous effect. Then it is fired numerous times to protect and preserve the work.
The finished product is a radiant tree with branches extended and bearing olives – the “fruits of peace.”
